Detox Your Pits!
Congrats, you’ve chucked all your toxic anti-perspirants in the trash and have made the switch to natural deodorant! Now what?
It’s time to detox your pits! Why? Because your natural deodorant will work more effectively if you start with a clean slate. Anti-perspirants contain aluminum which is used to shrink/clog your sweat glands. Sweat glands are essential for releasing toxins from your body (sweat = good; stank = bad). Aluminum compounds have been shown to collect in the brain, possibly leading to Alzheimers. :/ No thanks, betch! I already have a hard time remember sh*t.
When you switch from an anti-perspirant to a natural deodorant, your glands and pores will start to unclog and work properly again. While your body starts to adjust and work normal again, toxins and other gunk (dead skin cells, chemical residue, etc.) are being released and may temporarily cause you to stank more than usual. Fret not, homedog, you are DETOXING. If you don’t acknowledge this transition period, you may be quick to give up and switch back to that evil, toxic deodoro crap… don’t do it!
Give yourself about a week to properly detox and sweat out all the nasty buildup. If you wanna speed up the process, staying hydrated and exercising ought to do the trick.
Keep in mind, even some “natural” deodorants you’ll find at the store have questionable ingredients…
